| Description | According to General Sherin Hassan, Head of the Maritime Transport Div. at the Ministry of Transport, a highly valued vessels fuelling project at the Red Sea Zone seems in the pipeline. Project is going in coordination with German & Dutch companies. Project is based on Egypt unique location between 3 world continents. Sources of the Maritime Transport Sector revealed that Egypt annual vessels fuel sales do not exceed 2 million tons inspite of the fact that more than 30,000 vessels cross Suez Canal each year. Moreover, EU has lately directed to reduce vessels fuelling activities at all European ports. They predicted that should facilities exist, vessels fuel sales could increase by 6 - 8 million tons/ year. |
