| Description | Contract was recently signed with Lehmeyer (of Germany) to extend engineering consultancy works pertaining to a new 80 MW wind energy recovery station on the Red Sea going under German funding. Estimated project costs are put at some Euro 75 million. The contract is worth Euro 1,063,000. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Electricity & Energy is preparing studies for a project to produce wind energy recovery equipment to cope with requirements of wind energy recovery farms of 850 MW total capacities planned by Egypt over the next 5 years. Implementing Agency is NREA – New & Renewable Energy Authority. Meanwhile, another grant worth Euro 700,000 was also raised by Germany to finance another wind energy recovery farm at Gabal Al Zeit zone, to the west of Zaafarana on the Red Sea. |
