Egypt Minister of Petroleum & Mineral Wealth has announced the formation of several new companies to better manage the country huge mineral resources. The first, to involve the Ministry of Petroleum, that of Defense & Military Production and that of the Electricity and Energy, aims at extracting metals & minerals from black sand with confirmed reserves reaching 410 million tons, particularly in Al Borollos Zone. The Minister indicated that a relevant project feasibility study is now prepared. As to the second company, planned in cooperation with the UAE, so it would involve with the processing of glass sand (silica sand) and the production of glass under $ 300 million estimated investments. |
