Concessions for gold & copper exploration & exploitation at 8 different locations in Wadi Al Alaqi in Asswan is on the agenda. That was announced by Egypt Minister of Petroleum & Mineral Wealth indicating that each location covers 16 Km2 area. Development follows a fair handling of problems which faced operations of Tentalm Egypt Co. Ltd., now a 55/ 45 Egyptian Australian joint venture established to exploit mineral reserves at Abu Diab & Al Noweibiee Mountains location including tentalm, niobium, zinc, feldspar & quartz. Reserves of minerals at both areas are estimated at 138 million tons. [Observers believe the Mining sector is expected to witness a strong boom over the next stage]. |
