During his recent meeting with Alexandria Governor, new US Ambassador to Egypt has announced that his country is considering possible means to help Egypt in the removal of mines from the Western Desert. The official touched on a dear hope & great issue for which Egypt has been diplomatically struggling since decades. Meanwhile the Ambassador praised Egypt Investment climate & its attractiveness to foreign investors. Statements were highly received on all official & popular levels. [Weeks earlier world reputed Prof. Dr. Farouk El Baz revived publicly a project he proposed since some years ago to build a 1,200 Km long corridor to extend from Alamein in the north cutting vertically the Western Desert downwards parallel to the Nile Valley till Nasser Lake with almost 12 horizontal road links to Lower & Upper Egypt Governorates.
