According to Mr. Ali Abdel Aziz, Chairman of the Holding Co. for Housing, Tourism & Cinema, contracts were recently signed for the revamping of several historic state owned hotels in Cairo, Luxor & Asswan. That includes a $ 30 million contract for the revamping of both Cataract Hotel in Asswan & Winter Palace Hotel in Luxor, also another $ 38 million contract to revamp Marriott Hotel in Zamalek, Cairo. Meanwhile and according to Mr. Nabil Selim, Chairman of EGOTH, a plan was recently endorsed to complete and revamp the company hotel on Elephantine Island in Asswan, suspended for almost a decade, to comprise 199 rooms & suites under L.E. 72 million investments. Worth indicating is that EGOTH owns all four hotels and that Accor Chain, of France, manages both Cataract & Winter Palace Hotels. N.B. Development sends utmost lucrative & encouraging news to a long list of relevant concerned subcontractors & suppliers of goods and services particularly considering that public tourist investments were since long absent from the country overall tourist investments, so far lead by the private sector. |
