A group of Egyptian businessmen residing in the US & Canada are said to be planning an $ 1.6 billion tourist resort on the Bardawil Lake in Sinai seems in the pipeline. It is identified as the Egyptian American Group. Project would occupy 5 million M2 land. A delegation of the group is expected to visit Egypt beginning of December 2005. Month earlier a leading representative of the group, Mr. Ahmed Al Odi, has visited Egypt & met with executives of GAFI – General Authority for Investment, of the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of State for Environment Affairs, also with Governors of North & South Sinai. Project is scheduled for completion in several stages over 10 years. |
