Earlier privatized Abu Zaabal Co. for Fertilizers & Chemicals has reached an agreement with a Chinese Group on L.E. 200 million project to produce sulfuric acid. Abu Zaabal Co. Chairman said the project, backed by Egyptian & Chinese investments would have an annual design capacity of 400,000 tons, 60 % of which for export. Project, to benefit from advanced Chinese technologies in that field, is scheduled for completion in 20 months. Worth indicating is that sulfuric acid is deemed a major feed stock for almost 30 strategic industries with paper, textile & car batteries on top of the list. |
