Al Kharafi Group of Kuwait has announced a plan to pump the equivalent of L.E. 9.3 billion investments in different projects in Egypt. That includes $ 650 million project to extract minerals & salts from Qaroun Lake in El Fayyoum, to be implemented by EMAC for Salts & Minerals. It further includes L.E. 5 billion roads, railways & ports projects (agreed upon with the Ministry of Transport) including a 300 Km railway line to link Marsa Alam on the Red Sea with Asswan City. It also includes a $ 400 million project to produce news print paper. It is not yet determined whether the project would be located in Al Obour City or would be an extension to the paper & duplex factory in Al Ein Al Sukhna. |
