NREA has received an ODA loan from JBIC valued JY10.665 billion towards the EPC cost of that contract to cover the foreign currency component. NREA will finance the local portion [ component ] from its own resources & budget in LE. NREA has also applied for a grant in the equivalent amount of $ 50 million from the World Bank & from GEF - Global Environment facility towards this package. The 150 MW ISCC power plant will be located in Kureimat, about 95 Km to the south of Cairo on the east side of the Nile River. MREA intends to implement the project under the following contracts: Contract 1 : for the Solar Island as EPC cum O & M contract for engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning & 5 years operation & maintenance to be financed by the World Bank & NREA. Contract 2 : for the combined cycle island as EPC contract including the interface with the solar island. It shall consist of gas turbine (s), steam turbine, HRSC - heat recovery system generator (s), to be financed by JBIC & NREA. Contract 3 : for combined cycle island as O & M - Operation & Maintenance contract for 5 years. It is expected that invitation to bid will be made on July 2006 Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information on the project from NREA offices Saturdays to Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. local time as of 12/26/2005.
