While attending the inauguration of a petroleum exhibition held in Cairo (Intergas 2006), Egypt Minister of Petroleum & Mineral Wealth has revealed plans to build a huge petroleum refinery. Refinery would be of the fourth generation & negotiations are said to be ongoing with Arab investors to contribute thereto. It is to be located in Suez or Damietta or Kafr Al Sheikh. (Days earlier the Minister has announced the soon selling of a 20 % stake of MIDOR Co. – Middle East Oil Refinery Co., on the Stock Exchange and predicated the offering to be successful similar to that of Sidpec & Amoc shares. |
